High School Admission Guidance

About High School Admission Guidance

The High School Admission Guidance was first implemented in Kanagawa in 1995, ahead of the rest of the country. It has now become one of ME-net's flagship programs. Post-compulsory education pathways for "children with foreign connections" are diverse and complex. Due to Japanese language barriers for both children and parents, as well as differences from their home countries, understanding the system is difficult, placing them in challenging situations. This program supports high school admission, which represents a particularly significant barrier. The guidance is held at 6 locations within the prefecture with interpreters, and the special guidance website provides various entrance exam information in multiple languages. Since 2011, it has been a collaborative project between the Kanagawa Prefectural Board of Education and ME-net.
